President Elbegdorj opens Mongolia-London Business Forum



President Elbegdorj opened trading on London Stock Exchange in July 30, 2012. It was the first trading day following of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

After that, President Elbegdorj met with Xavier Rolet the Chief Executive Officer of London Stock Exchange Group. Mr. Xavier Rolet noted the successful and expanding cooperation between Mongolian Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange. He said “I am delighted to welcome His Excellency, the President of Mongolia to London Stock Exchange to open trading this morning. The Ceremony is a symbol of our very close relationship with Mongolia and reflects our successful partnership with the Mongolian Stock Exchange.

Events like today’s Mongolia-London Business Forum demonstrate the significant interest in London in working with Mongolia to help the country realize its exciting potential. We look forward to the future and continuing to work with our partners in Mongolia”.

President Elbegdorj emphasized that the Stock Exchange partnership between the both countries gives great impetus to our bilateral economic relations.
A keynote address is given by President Elbegdorj for Mongolia-London Business Forum at the London Stock Exchange. The event attended by Prince Michael of Kent and Lord Green, Minister of State Department of Business Innovation and Skills and Foreign Office.
Mr. Lord Green said “Mr. President, you have just been awarded “The Champion of the Earth”, the one of the most prestigious awards in the world. And we would like to name you “The Champion against corruption”. It is impossible to talk about economic development in corrupt society”.
President Elbegdorj said “I am delighted to open London Stock Exchange's first trading day following the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Stock exchanges are a vital instrument of modern international economic relations and in this regard I am pleased to praise London Stock Exchange’s leading role in driving global capital exchange”.
