President Elbegdorj meets delegates from The Asia Foundation

President Elbegdorj received the delegation from The Asia Foundation of USA, today. Mongolians are very thankful to The Asia Foundation for its contribution to the democracy and the development of good governance in Mongolia. Thanks to this contribution, justice and accountability situation improved in our country. The projects implemented by The Asia Foundation were highly effective especially fight against violence, human trafficking, environmentally friendly sustainable economic growth and book grant project.

As the country chairing the Community of Democracies, we constantly strive to strengthen the democratic system and the value of democracy in the region. We have nothing to teach others, but we have lessons to share. During our chairmanship of the Community of democracy we are focusing on the education of democracy. For this reason, we are aiming to expand our cooperation with The Asia Foundation.

Economic diversity, developing a balanced relationship between our two neighbors and the cooperation with our third neighbors are the main priorities of Mongolia. The Parliamentary election is coming soon. I hope the election will be fair, said the President.

The Board of Trustees of The Asia Foundation meets once every two years in the country in which it implements projects. Chairman of the Board, Michael H. Armacost, President David D. Arnold and other senior officials of The Asia Foundation were present at the meeting.
