A Research Wing, Named After the Mongolian President, Was Opened in the National Library



The opening ceremony of a Research wing, named after the President, held at the National Library yesterday D.Battulga, The Head of the Office of the President, said in the opening speech “This new wing was opened due to the President’s close attention to the Library issues and his proposal to the Parliament of Mongolia on fully equipped modern research hall in the National library and established a budget in 2012.

The preparation work took almost a year to complete. In addition the hall will be equipped with audio and video devices along with a data network system. The hall will provide the needed resources for academic research works of foreign and Mongolian scholars. In addition the President is drafting new legislation bringing the plight of the outdated system to the forefront in parliamentary decisions. I would like to ask the library staff to sustain this facility, where intellectual minds will flourish.”
At the ceremony people, gave speeches, expressed their appreciation to the President and the Office of the President for initiating the opening of a research hall with Information technology access and bringing the library service to an international standard. In one of the speeches, Doctor Sh.Choimaa, Chairman of the Academic Committee of the National Library, stated Mongolian scholars are going to contribute their works to the Research Hall.
The President’s Advisor, R.Bold handed 17 volumes of books about Mongolian khaans, which were written in a literary style and given to the President from the “Royal Fund”, to Chilaajav, Head of the National Library, as a contribution to the fund of the Research Hall. There were a great number of books, given to the President as a gift, displayed in the Hall.
At the close of the ceremony N.Khishigt, Academic Secretary of the Institute of History near the Mongolian Academy of Science, presented 20 books from among the best of the Institute of Histories’ collection as a gift to the Research Hall.
