New Model of Environmental Protection Discussed



Tsakhia Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia actively expressed his views and suggested certain initiations on many issues including environmental protection during the 2010 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and executive director of the World Economic Forum invited President Elbegdorj to become a member of the Global Agenda Council on Climate Change of the World Economic Forum. President Elbegdorj has worked in the council and participated in several videoconferences of the council.

By invitation, President Elbegdorj participated in New Models of Environment session of the Global Agenda Council on Climate Change of the Networks of Global Agenda Councils, the World Economic Forum and made a speech.

Authorities of the United Nations and the European Union and ministers of the USA, Switzerland, France and South Africa in charge of environmental protection and development expressed their views and exchanged ideas at the session.

“The environment requires us to start actions rather than discussing theories. We need an excellent model of pure development. Let us do it,” Edna Molewa, South African Minister of Water and Environmental Protection said.
Scholars suggested that producers should be required to employ pure technology and heads of state need to implement pure development policies.
