Mongolia and Buryatia Are Committed To Developing Mutually Beneficial Economic and Cross-Border Cooperation
Tsakhia Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia and Vyacheslav Vladimirovich Nagovitsyn, President of the Republic of Buryatia, the Russian Federation, agreed that it is important to develop mutually beneficial cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Buryatia, the Russian Federation.
During the one-to-one meeting, the two Presidents exchanged views and discussed issues to develop ties between Mongolia and Buryatia, and economic and cross-border cooperation.
“Since the first meeting between the Governments of Mongolia and Buryatia our discussed and agreed issues in trade, agriculture, railroad, construction, mining, energy, tourism sectors have been realized, and our relations have successfully developed,” President Nagovitsyn said. “I do not negate that there are things being done step by step or being delayed. Nevertheless, we are working to solve and are seeking mutually beneficial outcomes.” He continued that particularly Buryatia side focuses on increasing customs and border-crossing capacity to serve fast and increase meat import from Mongolia.
President Elbegdorj noted that as the States with friendly relations from ancient time, it is important to develop and expand relations between Mongolia and Buryatia which have same historic origin, and similar languages, cultures and tradition.
President Elbegdorj expressed his views on some issues and suggested certain proposals to repair locomotives and trains in Ulan-Ude, to get locomotives from the Republic of Buryatia, the Russian Federation, to set-up joint veterinary of the two countries to increase meat exports from Mongolia, to build a jointly invested meat factory, and the two States to help each other in case of natural calamity and during important seasonal works.
The Presidents discussed and agreed that the cultural relations between the two countries have intensively developed in last few years. Within the framework of the Convent of the Mongols of the World, artistic and cultural events, and conferences of scholars and researchers have been taking place covering wide areas. Besides, many Mongols from Buryatia and other countries are expected to participate in Altargana Festival that will begin in Ulaanbaatar on July 21, 2010. These are important events for the relations of Mongolia and the Republic of Buryatia, the Russian Federation, the Presidents agreed.
Vyacheslav Vladimirovich Nagovitsyn, President of the Republic of Buryatia, the Russian Federation emphasized that it is an honor for both the Convent and the Republic of Buryatia, the Russian Federation to host the President of Mongolia.
