President Elbegdorj Awards Mongolian Peacekeepers

Today, at the grounds of Ministry of Defense and General Staff of the Armed Forces, awards ceremony was held for the personnel of the first round of Mongolian Armed Forces’ peacekeeping battalion, who have recently returned from a successful mission in Republic of Chad and Central African Republic.

D. Battulga, Head of the Office of the President of Mongolia, congratulated the officers and their families. He said:
“History of Mongolian Armed Forces is enriched by new meanings, where our soldiers, in addition to their fundamental duty, are actively contributing to the peace and stability of the world, representing the people of Mongolia. Missions in Republic of Chad and Central African Republic are distinctive in a way that it is the first time Mongolian peacekeepers carried out an independent operation in the northern sector of the operations district, providing protection for United Nations’ assets and properties, facilitating humanitarian activities of United Nations, and other Government and Non-government organization, and safeguarding traffic routes for them. Moreover, our personnel have effectively coordinated independent provisions of food and medical supplies, which have once again showcased excellent commanding coordination and capacity of Mongolian peacekeepers. Thus today, we extend our respect to our brave soldiers with some outstanding officers awarded by State titles and medals by the decree of the President of Mongolia. I once again extend my congratulations to the recipients of this recognition, as well as their comrades, and wish them best of luck for their future deeds. May the spirit, glory, and legacy of Mongolian Armed Forces thrive through generations.”
