Ganzorig Gombosuren, Legal Advisor

Advisor Ganzorig was born in Dornogobi, a province in Eastern Mongolia and attended secondary and high school in Sainshand, the capital of the province. He enrolled in the Kuban’ University in 1977, in Krasnodar, Russia and graduated in 1982 majoring in law. After graduation, Mr. Ganzorig joined the Dornogobi province Court as a judge and arbiter. He then moved to the People’s Army court in 1985 where he served until he was appointed the chief judge for military court of Zuunbayan Division, in 1986.

Advisor Ganzorig moved to Ulaanbaatar in 1990, assuming his next appointment – judge at the Supreme Court of Mongolia, where he served for 8 years. In 1998 Mr. Ganzorig left for the USA aspiring Master’s degree in the American University, Washington College of Law, Washington D.C.

He lived in the US after completing his studies – he established his private consulting firm Ganzorig Consulting in Virginia, and served as the Director and Chief Consultant for the company until he returned to Mongolia in 2009.

He served for a short period of time as an expert for the Council for Rights and Freedoms of Mongolian Citizens and Legal Entities Abroad under the Office of Prime Minister of Mongolia.

Advisor Ganzorig has broad and active social affiliations. He is an Honorary Member of Texas Criminal Lawyers Association. He co-founded the Mongolian Group for Independence of Judges and Lawyers and a Board Member of the Washington Dc Area Mongolian Community. Mr. Ganzorig was an Adjunct Professor at Texas Weslyean University Law School.

In June 2003 President of Mongolia awarded the Order of Polar Star to Mr. Ganzorig for his committed service to secure rule of law.

Mr. Ganzorig has written a number of articles, essays and analytical papers for professional journals and publications, general media and encyclopedic sources. He also co-authored with his American colleagues on a wide range of issues.
